ROATH CAMPAIGN POSTS BEST QUARTER YET, HAS RAISED $900K TO DATE

Q1 haul of $288K continues momentum against 24-year incumbent

BOSTON – Patrick Roath’s campaign for Congress in MA-08 today announced it raised $288,000 in the first quarter of 2026, its strongest quarter to date. The campaign has now raised $900,000 since launching last year, all without a single dollar of corporate PAC money.

“This quarter showed that our momentum is only accelerating,” said Patrick Roath. “Voters across the district are ready for new leadership, and this campaign has the resources and the grassroots energy to deliver it. I’m grateful to everyone who has invested in this vision.”

Roath is challenging 24-year incumbent Rep. Stephen Lynch in the Democratic primary for Massachusetts’ 8th Congressional District. Rep. Lynch is the last remaining Democrat in Congress who voted against the Affordable Care Act and has not held an in-person town hall since 2019. Roath out-raised Rep. Lynch in 2025, despite not announcing his campaign until May – raising $600,000 from 100% individual donors.

Recent polling conducted by Workbench Strategy showed Roath leading Lynch by a 2:1 margin once voters learn basic information about both candidates.

The campaign has been endorsed by Governor Deval Patrick, David Hogg’s Leaders We Deserve, and a growing slate of local elected officials and advocacy groups across the district.

The Democratic primary is September 1, 2026.
