Fixing Politics and Democracy

This campaign is about fixing our politics and strengthening our democracy. That means advancing focused, serious, achievable measures designed to address corruption and make our institutions more responsive to the needs of the people.

No Corporate PAC Money. A pro-democracy anti-corruption agenda starts with how this campaign is being run. I refuse to accept any contributions from corporate political action committees (PACs), in an effort to strengthen the separation between candidates for office and corporate interests. The Trump Administration’s open corruption has made clear just how vulnerable our system is to being hijacked by the concentrated wealthy elite. That needs to change.

If elected, I would push for comprehensive campaign finance reform, including measures such as:

  • Public financing options for congressional campaigns to amplify small-dollar donations from ordinary citizens;
  • Strengthening bans on foreign actors influencing our elections and spending money on campaigns;
  • Passing the DISCLOSE Act to address dark money and require more comprehensive reporting of outside Super PAC spending in elections; and
  • Creating a user-friendly online platform that standardizes and streamlines campaign finance data to further the public’s interest in electoral transparency and accountability.

Let's Win This.
