Last updated Monday, July 20, 2026:
Vote by mail ballots begin to reach voters around July 25th.
Early voting begins August 22nd and ends August 28th.
Election Day is September 1st.
It is expected that ~50% of the Primary electorate will vote prior to Election Day. The vast majority of voting that takes place prior to Election Day will be via mail. Most voters return ballots within a week of receiving it.
Starting in week 4 through Election Day, all likely Democratic primary voters in the 8th congressional district, both Democrats and unenrolled voters, but especially women and voters under 50, need to see on streaming and digital platforms (Streaming, YouTube, Meta, Instagram) and read in their mailboxes, that:
- Patrick Roath has fought for your voting rights and against corruption in Massachusetts as a lawyer and democracy advocate who formerly worked for Governor Deval Patrick. Congressman Stephen Lynch has spent 25 years in Congress.
- Patrick is a new dad and a fighter for our communities who will bring fresh leadership to Congress. He is focused on the challenges we face today, like combatting the rising cost of living and the constant threats from the Trump administration.
- While career politicians in Washington like Stephen Lynch are focused on serving special interests and corporate donors, they’ve forgotten to deliver for us and on our values. Patrick Roath is the only candidate in this race refusing corporate donations, and in Congress, Roath will be accountable to working people, not CEOs and lobbyists.
Only after voters have been introduced to Patrick should all likely Democratic primary voters in the 8th congressional district, both Democrats and unenrolled voters, but especially women and voters under 50, need to see on streaming and digital platforms (Streaming, YouTube, Meta, Instagram) and read in their mailboxes through Election Day that:
- Patrick Roath will push for universal affordable healthcare, cap out-of-pocket insurance premiums, and increase access to Medicare and Medicaid.
- Patrick will fight for affordable housing and childcare, pushing for funding that would make it easier for first-time homebuyers to afford a down payment, and end corporate price-gouging by landlords to protect renters to make buying and renting more affordable.
- Patrick will fight Trump and DC corruption, and ban congressional stock trading.
- Congressman Lynch has not had an in-person town hall since 2019 and is the last Democrat left in Washington who voted against the Affordable Care Act.
