IN FIRST TWO MONTHS, DEMOCRATIC CANDIDATE PATRICK ROATH RAISES ALMOST DOUBLE WHAT INCUMBENT STEPHEN LYNCH RAISES

BOSTON, MA – With the release of all Q2 FEC numbers, Patrick Roath, Democratic candidate for Congress in Massachusetts’ Eighth District, has officially raised almost 2x the amount raised by the incumbent, Representative Stephen Lynch.

Roath, a first-time candidate for elected office, launched his campaign on May 7, 2025, meaning that he had 36 fewer days to raise than Rep. Lynch and still raised almost double the amount ($287,000 to Lynch’s $167,000). Additionally, Lynch’s Q2 fundraising includes tens of thousands of contributions from corporate PACs – funding which Roath’s campaign refuses to accept. One hundred percent of the contributions made to Roath’s campaign were from individuals, with zero contributions from any PAC. Roath’s haul in an abbreviated Q2 is also far more than Rep. Lynch, a 23-year incumbent, has raised for all of 2025.
